Retail Express Connector

Version 2

Retail Express is a cloud-based POS, inventory, and eCommerce software that provides inventory-based Australian and NZ retailers with a central platform. It helps to manage sales and services, inventory and logistics, marketing, and loyalty, business intelligence practices, and much more across multiple online stores. As a cloud solution, Retail Express gives you the flexibility to manage your business anytime, anywhere, via any internet-enabled devices. Reports and dashboards give users valuable insight into business performance. The Retail Express Web Store API and the IPS API are the web services that allow e-commerce web sites to communicate with Retail Express point of sale and stock control software. This enables the synchronization of products, pricing, purchase orders, customers, internal transfers, and other business-specific information to help reduce the amount of administration required to maintain an online e-commerce website and an IPS. Use Domo's Retail Express connector to retrieve the web store and inventory planning systems data.

The Retail Express Connector is a "Cloud App" Connector, meaning it retrieves data stored in the cloud. In the Data Center, you can access the Connector page for this and other Cloud App Connectors by clicking Cloud App in the toolbar at the top of the window.

You connect to your Retail Express account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the Retail Express Connector user interface.

General information for adding DataSets, setting update schedules, and editing DataSet information is discussed in Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.

What kind of credentials do I need to power up this Connector?

You need the domain name of your web service account, the unique client code, username, and password of Retail Express account.

Are there any API limits I should be aware of?

Can I use the same account to create multiple datasets?

  • Make sure your authentication remains valid.
  • Review the configuration to make sure that all required items have been selected.
  • Review the Connector history for error messages.
  • In rare cases, you may be requesting too much information and reaching API limitations or timeouts. If this is the case, you can review the history of the Connector run to see the error message and duration. If this is the case, you can reduce the number of accounts that are being pulled, choose a smaller number of metrics for the report that you are pulling, or reduce the timeframe that you are trying to pull.
